Gianfranco IANNUZZI
Multimedia artist and director.
A
native of Venice. Trained as a sociologist and photographer.
His
artistic creation is based on images, sound, and light used as the means
of sensory communication.
He
adapts and brings culture and art back to diverse types of places and spaces,
both indoors and outdoors, in which he always creates an installation that
blends in, brings the best out of, and transforms the space temporarily.
In
spaces he sketches an “interactive environment” at the heart
of which spectators can behave as they wish, or even change their perception
of the show.
The
use of the latest cutting-edge technology in the fields of multimedia and
interactivity facilitates the active participation and intervention of
the general public with and on artistic work.
For
many years now, he has being putting on shows using the four thousand square
metre projection area at the CATHEDRALE D'IMAGES underground quarries,
located at Les Baux de Provence, for whom he also works as an artistic
and technical consultant.
New
projects always result in him developing his approach to the sites at which
he expresses himself.
In
Europe, this involves occupying an entire town or city and creating a coherent
walk-around show combining images, sound, and light.
In
Japan, where he is represented by “Apollonia Corporation ”,
he occupies spaces that have been specially built to accommodate his latest
artistic creations.

“Digital
Dynamic Fresco”
in the interior
of the dome of the Petruzelli Theatre, Bari, Italy
The installation concerns
the interior dome of the theatre where the plaster and stuccos have been reconstructed
based on the original model. The projected images, inspired by the ancient
frescos, cover the dome, while the light installation illuminates the decorative
and architectural details of the cupola. The final vision offered to the spectator
will be the fusion between the digital images and the semi-spherical base used
for projection.
Thus the Petruzelli
Theatre becomes the first classic theatre to be equipped with a dome painted
with a digital dynamic fresco.
